The Nursing Federation believes the union's new national ad campaign is even more important in Tasmania, given the budget battles the state's health system is facing.
The television, radio, cinema and social media ads aim to shine a positive light on the work nurses do, and encourage more people into the profession to circumvent a looming nurse shortage.
Tasmanian branch secretary Neroli Ellis says it is important to respect and applaud the work of nurses, midwives and carers.
"There's been so much negativity in the health system, particularly in Tasmania with the budget cuts and we're very concerned that that's going to have a real impact on people continuing with nursing and undertaking nursing as a career.
"So it's about demonstrating the positive nature of nursing and certainly seeking community support," Ms Ellis said.
