New nursing ads hit the big screen
Thursday 23rd August, 2012
Real-life nurses and midwives are “starring” in new cinema ads showcasing the amazing work carried out each and every day by Australian’s nursing and midwifery workforce.
The two-minute ads, which commence playing at cinemas across the country tonight (23 August), underpin the Australian Nursing Federation’s (ANF) new national campaign - “Australia’s Nurses and Midwives. You couldn’t be in better hands.”
Ads showcasing the invaluable work of Australia’s nursing and midwifery professionals, the heart and soul of the health system.
“They are uplifting, positive images of the invaluable work nurses and midwives do each and every day at health settings across Australia,” ANF Federal Secretary Lee Thomas, said today.
“There are no actors or scripts used in these ads. They are real nurses and midwives who graciously allowed themselves to be filmed fly on the wall style, as they went about their work treating and caring for their patients, from the very young to the very old.”
Ms Thomas said the ads, showing the work of 22 nurses and midwives at three different hospitals, were produced by Neil Lawrence; from Lawrence Creative.
The ads will air until December and will supplement a series of TV and radio commercials currently on air.

“One of the aims of the new campaign is to attract more nurses and midwives to the profession,” Ms Thomas explained.
“We’re confident that all these ads, showing positive images of nurses and midwives at work, will help us do just that.”
