The Australian Nursing Federation

Welcome to the Australian Nursing Federation

The Australian Nursing Federation is the union for registered nurses, enrolled nurses, midwives, and assistants in nursing doing nursing work in every state and territory throughout Australia.

When you join one of our branches, you are joining one of the largest and fastest growing unions in Australia with over 220,000 members.

We are proud of the work that you, our  members do, in every health setting, in every hospital, nursing home, GP clinic, community health practice, in rural and remote Australia and in large hospitals in big cities.

Nurses, midwives, and assistants in nursing are at the forefront of providing quality healthcare to every Australian, wherever they live, whenever they need it.  We know that our members are hardworking and dedicated and make a difference to the lives of thousands of Australian’s each and every day.

Safe Patient Care for all Australian's

Patients interests and quality patient care is central to what we do as nurses, midwives and assistants in nursing each and every day.  There is much to be done to ensure that decision makers, politicians and bureaucrats understand that more nurses, funding for beds and quality education and training for staff will benefit our community and enable the best patient care for all Australian’s.

Visit our branches, find out about about the current leadership of the ANF and take action to support our current campaigns.
